The exam
Maryland licenses electrologists through Maryland Board of Nursing — Electrology Practice Committee. Candidates sit the AEA/IBEC licensure examination delivered by Prometric, which the Board notes is not the CPE exam, at 75 %, plus a Board clinical exam at 75 % and a 23-question Maryland Electrology Practice and Regulations exam at 75 %.
Training: 600 hours: 200 theory and 400 clinical.
Maryland tests electrologists with the AEA/IBEC licensure examination; Maryland Board of Nursing — Electrology Practice Committee publishes no content outline. This practice test follows the NIC National Electrology theory model (45 % scientific concepts · 55 % electrology procedures and services), the only national electrology blueprint published in the US.
We do not cover the 23-question Maryland Electrology Practice and Regulations exam. Maryland tests the Nurse Practice Act and the electrology regulations at COMAR 10.53 in a separate 23-question exam, also at 75 %. Our practice tests cover the written electrology theory Maryland tests, and nothing here prepares you for that separate component — plan for it from the board's own materials.
